Paediatric Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplantation Symposium 2014

The Departments of Paediatric Surgery and Transplantation, University of the Witwatersrand, invite you to attend a paediatric hepatobiliary and liver transplantation symposium.

As you are aware the Departments of Paediatric Surgery and Transplantation, University of the Witwatersrand, held a "Paediatric Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplantation Symposium" in November of last year.

On the back of this enormously successful event, we are busy putting together the 2nd Edition of the meeting, to be held from 7th to 9th November 2014.

Professor Mark Davenport (Paediatric Surgeon, King's College Hospital London), Professor Philippus Bornman (Hepatobiliary Surgeon, Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town), Professor Simon Horslen (Paediatric Hepatologist, Seattle Children's Hospital, Washington, USA) and Professor Atsuyuki Yamataka (Paediatric Surgeon, Tokyo, Japan) have all accepted invitations to attend, and we are planning an exciting program on various topics of paediatric HPB surgery and liver transplantation.

IIn addition, we are planning to publish another dedicated edition of the SAMJ to coincide with the meeting. This will take the form of a dedicated Part 2 of the October edition of the journal. We would invite submissions for consideration for publication by the Editorial Board. Submissions can be made via the SAMJ's online submission process, www.samj.org.za, where instructions for authors will be found.

Thus I would invite you all to "Save the Date", start planning oral submissions, and think about the submission of manuscripts for publication in the journal. Please note that submissions will close on the 30th June.
